As President Elect Jakaya M Kikwete has now completed formalities and is now president for another term, the only question now that is remaining relating to the just ended elections is what next for Dr. Slaa who came closest to Dr. Kikwete but was yet not close enough to pose a serious threat to the incumbent's Presidential prospects. Though Dr. Slaa's party made significant gains in the gaining many more Parliament seats than any other opposition party have been able to achieve in the past.
In the Isles the Runner up in the Presidentia race has been given the position of first Vice President, however it will be interesting to see how events will pan out on the mainland, especially after Dr. Slaa's very conspicuous absence from the annoucements of the Presidential election results.
